Carson Valley School is an independent, non-profit child and family service agency founded in 1917 whose mission is to provide residential, clinical, educational, and community-based services that make a measurable difference in the lives of children and their families.
Professionalism, quality, and respect for the individuality of each student are constants at Carson Valley School. The 18 members of our Board of Directors, two Court-appointed trustees, our Executive Director, and a talented staff work together to provide the very best environment for the residents. The Board of Directors meets monthly throughout the year, serving three-year terms. In their role, they work actively on committees, providing direction and oversight for the agency's programs.
At its roots, Carson Valley School is a social service agency, a residential facility for troubled youth who are declared to be deprived or dependent. For many, Carson Valley School is the first real home and family they had ever known.
Carson Valley School makes ample use of its pristine, country-like setting, combining its primary mission to provide education and life skills for the residents - with the needs of the surrounding community. In short, Carson residents are involved members of the Philadelphia suburb they call home. They learn to reach for their own star - while actively participating in the community where they live.
