YOUTH CARE WORKER II
Qualifications: High school diploma, valid driver's license, good driving record, demonstrated knowledge of behavioral modification systems and child development.
General Job Description: Responsible for assisting in the direct implementation of the Agency and cottage programs. The Youth Care Worker will insure for the health, safety, and well being of the resident in accordance with the goals of the individual treatment plan.
Essential Functions:
· Attend and participate in scheduled meetings and training sessions.
· Communicate with the team and supportive services in a professional manner.
· Implement and actively participate in the cottage and Agency programs, i.e., clothing hygiene, chores, nutrition, etc.
· Implement the cottage standards of behavior and discipline for residents.
· Be responsible to implement the appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint techniques.
· Meet the Agency standards for distribution of medications.
· Develop, improve, and implement group and individual counseling and management skills to meet the needs of our residents.
· Be responsible to meet all housekeeping standards in the cottage.
· Be responsible to operate the Agency vehicles according to the Agency standards.
· Be aware of all emergency procedures, safety and health standards, and implement them according to the mandated regulations.
· Adhere to the Agency’s policies on client’s rights, confidentiality, and cultural competence.
· Meet the Agency and regulatory group standards on written reports to include, but not limited to:
- Critical Incident Reports
- Progress Notes
- Daily Log
- AWOL
- Intervention Log
- Child Care Reports
· Responsible for implementation of cottage wake-up and daytime procedures.
· Provide transportation for medical, school and cottage needs as assigned by Cottage Program Supervisor.
· Provide supervision for any resident not in educational program.
· Prepare meals in the absence of Child Care Worker.
Status: Non-exempt
Physical and Mental Requirements: Significant physical exertion required. Ability to participate in sports and other activities with residents. Ability to maintain composure in crisis with youth, ability to restrain youth physically and in accordance with accepted agency guidelines.
