"With her mother addicted to drugs and in and out of jail, Casey came to Carson Valley School when she was just 11 years old. She was experiencing all the emotions of a child who had been bounced around from family member to family member, she was angry, acting out in school and her grades were barely passing. With the help and guidance provided by Carson Valley, she was able to get on the right track and become a better student and a better person. Today, she is a freshman at Clarion University, where she received enough scholarship money and other sources of funding to attend tuition free."
Dear Friends,
As fortunate as we are to have friends who care so deeply about the health and welfare of less fortunate children such as Casey, we still need your help to keep our efforts moving forward.
Carson Valley School's programs support over 600 children, on any given day. Stories such as Casey's are what we're all about. From the moment the first child entered "Carson College for Orphan Girls" back in 1917 to the present, everyone connected to this creative, energetic and caring organization has been dedicated to making a measurable difference in the lives of children and their families.
HELP US DO MORE.
Today, our mission brings us to a new and exciting challenge that will allow us to do more for more children, more families, and more communities. This year, the Board of Directors of Carson Valley School voted to join together with Children's Aid Society (CAS) of Norristown, PA to create a new entity.
Together, Carson Valley and CAS will provide a continuum of care for children and families in Southeastern Pennsylvania that is broader, stronger and more comprehensive. Our new organization, Carson Valley Children's Aid, will harness the combined energies of both organizations, increase efficiencies and provide the community with a greater return on investment.
PLEASE GIVE WHATEVER YOU CAN.
You can support our mission and help thousands of at-risk children by making a tax-free donation today. While a good portion of our funding comes from public sources, City, State and Federal budget cuts continue to put a strain on our resoures. Carson Valley makes the most of your donation by keeping administrative costs down to a low 7.6%. But without continued private support from people like you, at-risk children throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania will be left without the help and guidance they need.
Thank you for being a part of Carson Valley School's past and our future!
Warmest regards,
John Taaffe
Executive Director
P.S. Casey is just one of thousands of children that have walked through our doors. With your continued support, we will continue to have success stories like hers. Please open your heart and make a donation today!
